A well-known problem from Final Fantasy 7 Remake returns in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and that is the question of susceptibility to shock.
But what exactly is the problem with shock susceptibility? Isn’t everything explained in the game data when it comes to the state of Staggered? Nope. There’s a little catch to the whole thing.
In this solution you will learn everything about the topic of shock and the difference to shock susceptibility. We’ll explain to you how these things differ from each other and how you can complete Chadley’s battle reports with all sub-points.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth wants to shock us!
The so-called combat missions occur when we first meet Chadley at the chocobo farm in the grassland region. He unlocks the radio towers and when we activate one, we find all the world reports from the area.
Quite a few of these world reports are combat missions and they can imply the mission sub-item “Make an enemy vulnerable to Staggered.”
But how do I make an opponent vulnerable to shock? The database initially only explains that the so-called shock susceptibility exists. But it doesn’t go into detail about how this can be initiated with an opponent?
In fact, “shock-prone” is a condition in itself. An enemy can take this state. In the combat basics this is initially described as follows.
How do I make an opponent vulnerable to shock?
However, the answer to this question is a little lost in the description. Because the way we make an opponent vulnerable to Pressured varies from case to case.
If you take a closer look at the analysis data for the individual monsters, you will eventually find what you are looking for. You can make opponents vulnerable to Pressured by first identifying an opponent’s weakness and then exploiting it, so to speak.
This means that you can put an enemy in this vulnerable state if you attack the enemy once with the respective weakness.
This information is not immediately visible. Here on the poison rat, for example, the inscription “susceptible to Pressured” only appears once we have bombarded it with its weakness, and in this case that is an ice attack.
However, there are different weaknesses and therefore different triggers for susceptibility to Pressured.
A little tip: Not all enemies have a direct weakness. There are also enemies with an indirect weakness. So you need different triggers here. The Thunder Wolf, for example, has a weakness against negative status changes. But what does that mean exactly?
You have to give the Thunder Wolf a negative condition such as Bio. So here you need a lasting weakening and not a one-time attack.
What is the difference to the state of Staggered??
However, as explained in Combat Basics, Shock is a completely different state. The regular Pressured state occurs when an enemy is completely Staggered.
So this is really only the situation when you have completely filled up the opponent’s Pressured bar.
Skills and magic do more if an enemy was previously in a vulnerable state. But the enemy only becomes shocked, i.e. completely Pressured, in the regular state of Staggered.
And then the enemy is motionless: This is where you really have to go for it and unleash your strongest attacks!
If you have any questions about the state of Staggered or susceptibility to Pressured, please ask them in the comments.
I’ve been looking for it for a really long time too. I studied the entire database. And then at some point I noticed that the “vulnerable to Pressured” status only pops up among the enemy once you have exploited the weakness.
So yes, the topic is quite complex, although it is actually so simple because you first have to establish the association with the analysis database. But once you understand that you can find out the trigger for susceptibility to shock, it’s not that difficult anymore.
