New games are added to the PlayStation Plus subscription at regular intervals. Sony throws new gaming gems into the in-house subscription every month and this is of course not free for the console manufacturer.
The games, or rather the producers and marketers behind the games, want to be paid. The games are licensed for the Sony subscription model for a certain period of time. Conversely, this means that these licenses expire at some point.
Final Fantasy disappearing from PS Plus?
Now, however, a major publisher and game manufacturer has been hit: Square Enix. Many games from the “Final Fantasy” franchise will soon be removed from the subscription. But you still have the chance to play all these games if you are quick.
Which games are affected? In detail, it concerns the following games from the ever-popular “Final Fantasy” series:
- World of Final Fantasy (my insider tip!)
- Final Fantasy VII (original)
- Final Fantasy VIII Remastered
- Final Fantasy IX
- Final Fantasy X-X2
- Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age (FFXII-Remastered)
- Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition
In addition, more games will soon disappear from the subscription:
When will PS Plus lose these games? If you still want to play these games, you should get a move on. There’s not much time left. And yet there’s still enough time to try out one or two “Final Fantasy” games.
All these games will leave PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium on May 21, 2024.
You can also play all the Leavers and then decide later whether you want to buy one of the titles. You can’t go far wrong with the “Final Fantasy” games anyway.
It’s a matter of taste, of course, but I for one played through Final Fantasy VII again last year and I think that the older FF games are still quite playable today. What do you think? Why don’t you write it in the comments and discuss it with us!
