The teasers had already hinted at it quite clearly and industry insiders knew it in advance anyway – the sequel to the medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Delieverance is coming!
Developer Warhorse Studios officially announced Kingdome Come: Deliverance 2, the sequel to the popular action RPG, on April 18 at 8 p.m. German time with the help of an extensive trailer.
What is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 about?
In the sequel, players once again take on the role of Henry, the son of a blacksmith who lives in 15th century Bohemia. The story of “Kingdom Come Deliverance 2” begins where its predecessor ended.
So we don’t start with a completely inexperienced warrior, but with the character we know, who can already draw on his experience from the predecessor.
There is a huge open world to explore. Whereby there are actually two separate game worlds that can be explored without any boundaries. Both maps should be roughly the same size as the game world of the predecessor.
On the one hand, the beautiful and diverse Bohemian Paradise (a real place that can still be visited in the Czech Republic) with the majestic Trosky Castle and, on the other, the urban surroundings of the silver mining town of Kutná Hora, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, await us.
The developers also emphasize in the video that the sequel includes more than five hours of “captivating cutscenes”. In comparison, “Kingdome Come: Deliverance” had around three hours. The action role-playing game will therefore be more extensive in every nook and cranny.
It is also said that the combat system has been revised to make it more accessible. At the same time, however, it should remain true to its nature: the representation of real medieval martial arts.
There are also two new weapon categories to look forward to. These include the newly added crossbows and particularly exciting: early gunpowder weapons.
“Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2” will be released this year for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
