If you’re currently in Hogwarts Legacy and are eagerly waiting to get your hands on your first broom, we’ve got good news for you! Your broom is already waiting for you.

In this guide, we’ll tell you where you can get the broom you’ve been waiting for. You can find all the information about the game in our guide section or in our walkthrough.

Getting brooms in Hogwarts Legacy

How can I get a broom in Hogwarts Legacy? To get your very first broom, you first need to complete the first flying lesson with Madam Kogawa. You don’t need to worry, because you will come across this quest during the course of the main story.

So complete the main mission Lesson: Flying. Here you will learn how to control the broom and everything else there is to know.

Lesson: Flying Class

How can I unlock the quest? This quest is unlocked once you have completed the main mission Jackdaw’s final resting place.

The mission starts directly at the main entrance, in the outside area of the school grounds. Simply follow the marker on the map outside. Talk to Madam Kogawa on site, who will brief you.

Now fly through the rings you see in the picture. The first challenge is not difficult. All you have to do is fly through the 3 rings. Now you can accelerate with the left analog stick while you steer up or down with the right stick.

The next step is to master the shoulder buttons. The right shoulder button gives you a good boost.

Now fly through all the rings that pop up around Hogwarts and this part is also done.

Now we just need to talk to Everett Clopton again. When you’re done with the flight, you can now and (always in the future) descend using the Circle button on PlayStation, the B button on Xbox or the A button on Nintendo Switch.

Got the broom, it’s finally ours!

Important information about the broom: Despite the first flying lesson, there is one thing you need to know. The first broom is not a reward for Madam Kogawa’s quest.

For the flying lesson, there is only a smelly school broom waiting for you, which you have to return. However, there are several brooms in the game, 13 in total, all of which you can unlock. These are then yours and no longer smell quite so bad.

Flight test

Once you have completed the lesson with Madam Kogawa, you can complete the follow-up mission, which is unlocked as a result. This is a side mission called Flight Test. It gives you the very first broom in the game.

Everett Clopton is talking about a store in Hogsmeade. He means Spintwitches Sporting Goods, where we stop by.

Once inside, you need to speak to Albie Weekes, who will present you with his offer. A broom initially costs 600 gold, a considerable price!

Sweeping away the competition

You can still respond to Weekes’ request in the quest frame. He wants us to visit the Quidditch pitch near Hogwarts and talk to Imelda.

Do this and fly through the rings in the allotted time. There are 22 rings and you have to be faster than 2:20 minutes. This is actually relatively easy to do.

Once you have mastered the parkour, have a quick chat with Imelda and then return to Albie Weekes. This quest is the basis for broom improvements, so you should definitely tackle it.

To upgrade the broom, you must have completed the side mission Sweeping away the competition.
