One of the many collecting challenges in the action role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy is finding all of the wand hilts. Which means a lot of legwork for you, which at least results in you being able to adapt your wand to your personal taste and play style.
However, keep in mind that the wand handles, like the incantations, are assigned randomly. Which handle you get at which location depends on your luck. But the locations always remain the same.
4 Wand Handles at Hogwarts: Astronomy Wings
- Wand Hilt #1: Located in a small box on a table in the corner of Professor Fig’s classroom in the Astronomy Wing. The box doesn’t display well with Revelio, so keep an eye out.
- Magic wand handle #2: Go to the dungeon under the astronomy wing, in the cellar vault you will find a door that must be opened with Alohomora (level 2).
- Wand Grip #3: You can find it in the Astronomy Wing on the ground floor. Enter the building via the transformation courtyard and go to the right where you can use Alohomora (level 1) to open the door to a junk room. The box you are looking for is on the long table here. - Wand Grip #4: Go to the Charms Class room and you can crack the door to Professor Ronen’s office with Alohomora (level 1). Follow the spiral staircase up there and finally onto the canopy, where you will find another handle for your wand.
2 Wand Handles at Hogwarts: Bell Tower Wings
- Wand Grip #1: Go to the Flea Flame Location North Exit of Hogwarts and turn around so you are facing the school. Turn right and follow the wall past the Thestral enclosure to a door that can only be opened with Alohomora (level 2). In Mr. Moon’s premises you will find this box and with it a wand handle.
- Wand Hilt #2: This wand hilt in Hogwarts Legacy is located on a tower in the school that you cannot enter normally. Instead, you have to climb the bell tower by traveling to the bell tower courtyard and then running all the way up the stairs on the left, past the point where you can solve the bell puzzle. At the top of the tower, interact with the frog statue to be teleported to the handle.
2 Wand Handles at Hogwarts: The Grand Staircase
- Wand Grip #1: Once you have Alohomora at level 3, you can enter the study above the Headmaster’s Office. Grab the key from the desk here and use it to open the large iron door at the other end of the hallway, directly opposite the statue that guards the stairs to the headmaster’s office. At the top you will find this handle.
- Wand Handle #2: Located in the Headmaster’s Office, right next to the door that leads to the study one floor up and requires you to have mastered the Alohomora spell at level 3. You can only enter the office once you have reached a certain point in the main mission.
2 Wand Hilts in Hogwarts: The Great Hall
- Wand Hilt #1: Located in the kitchen beneath Hogwarts. Travel to the Fleaflame location Grand Staircase in the area of the same name. Right next to this fast travel point there is a staircase leading down in the dark. In the next hallway, look for the still life that you can interact with. So you enter the kitchen and find, among other things, this handle.
- Wand Grip #2: Enter the Great Hall and crack the locked door on the right with Alohomora (Level 1). In the room behind you will not only find a Demiguise statue, but also this wand handle.
2 Wand Handles at Hogwarts: Library Annex
- Wand Hilt #1: Located in a small box in the basement of the Restricted Section of the Library. You will automatically visit this location over the course of the campaign, but you can also return there as often as you like later in the game.

3 Wand Handles in Hogwarts: South Wing
- Wand Hilt #1: This hilt is part of the reward for solving the Clock Tower puzzle. To do this, go to the clock tower in the south wing and go to the third door. Now you have to freeze the pendulum as soon as it is above the symbol, which can also be seen on the door. This will give you access and allow you to open the box.
- Wand Grip #2: In the Teacher’s Tower, right next to the Jewel Covered Turtle Shell entry, you can open a door with Alohomora (level 2). Use Glacius to put out the chimney behind it and crawl through it.
- Wand Grip #3: In the south wing of Hogwarts, follow the hallway up. Just before the spiral stone staircase that leads further up there is a frog statue that you can interact with. It teleports you to a small room where you need Lumos to see anything. You will finally find this handle in a box.
4 Wand Hilts in Hogwarts Valley
- Wand Hilt #1: Located in the village of Brockburrow, which is southeast of Hogwarts, between Aranshire and Keenbridge. Enter the southeasternmost building in the town and open the small chest there to get this handle.
- Wand Hilt #2: Also found in Brockburrow Village, southeast of Hogwarts. In the far west, directly opposite the dealer, there is a rickety building next to a hut and on top of it you can discover the casket via Revelio. You have to pull the nearby box with Accio and Levioso in order to be able to climb up.
- Wand Grip #3: A house in the south of the village of Keenbridge, the door must be cracked with Alohomora (level 1).
- Wand Grip #4: In a hut in the eastern area of Keenbridge Town.
4 wand handles South of Hogwarts
- Wand Grip #1: Visit the village of Lower Hogsfield, which is located far south of Hogwarts. There are some wooden boxes on the back wall of one of the three houses in the town and this box is on one of them.
- Wand Grip #2: South of Hogwarts is the small village of Lower Hogsfield and there is a pond right in front of this place. In this pool you will find an overturned cart and in front of it there is a box that contains this handle.
- Wand Hilt #3: The box that houses this wand hilt is located in the Aranshire village, which you must visit during the secondary mission Tangled Web. Look for a pile of rubble in the garden in the northwest that you can destroy with Confringo or Bombarda, this will release the box and you can open it.
- Wand Grip #4: In the southern area of the Aranshire village. Pick the lock opposite the merchant with Alohomora (level 1) and go to the upper floor. The box is right in front of the bed.
4 Wand Handles in Feldcroft region
- Wand Hilt #1: Located in the village of Irondale, which is part of the Feldcroft region in the west of the map. The village to the east has a small hut in the northeast, just a few meters from the treasure vault and directly opposite the windmill, where you can find the box you are looking for.
- Wand Grip #2: Fly north/northwest from Irondale in the Feldcroft region and you will see a giant waterwheel. Just behind it, on the rock, is a small wooden shelter with a note and this wand handle.
- Wand Grip #3: Visit the town of Feldcroft in the region of the same name southwest of Hogwarts. On the eastern edge of this village there is a small stone hut that contains the chest you are looking for.
- Wand Hilt #4: Located in the village of Feldcroft in the region of the same name, southwest of Hogwarts. The box with these contents is located in front of a larger hut in the east of the village.
2 Wand Hilts discovered in Hogsmeade Valley
- Wand Hilt #1: This wand hilt in Hogwarts Legacy can be found on the southeasternmost edge of Upper Hogsfield. The casket is located in a very small, walk-in stone shed with a wheelbarrow in front of it.
- Wand Grip #2: Visit the village of Upper Hogsfield. Near the well in the center of this place you can enter a stone house in which this handle is located. Most of the time, Dorothy Sprottle, the person responsible for the secondary mission Guardian of the Brother, stands next to the house in question and gardens.
2 Wand Handles in the swamp at the north ford
- Wand Grip #1: Go to the village of Pitt-Upon-Ford far in the north of the country, west of the tower where you have to take your first test. There is a house near the Fleaflame location that you have to open with Alohomora (level 1). Here you will finally find the wand handle in a box on the floor.
- Wand Handle #2: Also found in the village of Pitt-Upon-Ford. Find the three-story building in the northwest of the town and pick the lock with Alohomora (level 1). The casket is on the top floor.
2 Wand Handles at Maurenweem Lake
- Wand Grip #1: Found in the town of Marunweem, which you can find in the Lake Maurenweem region, far in the southeast of the country. In the north of the town there is a building by the river and in this building the handle is in a box.
- Wand Hilt #2: Also found in the village of Marunweem. On the east side of the town, northeast of the local flea flame town, at the highest point of Marunweem.
2 Wand Handles at the cape at the mansion
- Wand Grip #1: Head to the town of Bainburgh, far to the north of this region. The sought-after box containing this wand handle can be found at the dealer Agnes Coffey’s booth.
- Wand Grip #2: Look for the building in the south of the town whose door you have to crack with the help of Alohomora (level 1). Inside is this wand handle.
2 Wand Handles in Cragcroftshire
- Wand Grip #1: You can find it in the town of Cragcroft, in a house in the southeastern area of the village. The lock on the door must be picked with Alohomora (level 1).
- Wand Hilt #2: You can find it in the town of Cragcroft, in a house in the southeastern area of the village. The lock on the door must be picked with Alohomora (level 2).
5 wand handles that you get through missions
- Wand Handle #1: You will receive this handle as a reward for completing the optional mission Flight Literature. Find the student Cressida Blumes near the library and accept her assignment to capture her books in the library with Accio.
- Wand Grip #2: After your first visit to Hogsmeade, visit the Astronomy Wing. On the first floor you meet the student Zenobia Noke, who gives you the side mission Lots of Goblin Stones. Collect all six stones for her and this handle is yours.
- Wand Grip #3: You unlock this grip once you have completed the Vase Maneuver secondary task. You accept this mission from Madame Twiddle in Irondale, Feldcroft Region. Go to the marked location, destroy the 20 vases that you can mark with Revelio and reveal the battle arena. Then return to your client.
- Wand Grip #4: You have to go to Higher Hogsfield in the Valley of Hogsmeade (region) and talk to the old lady there who will give you the secondary mission Brother’s Keeper. Then speak to Claire Beaumont, the local merchant, and then go in search of Bardolph Beaumont’s body.
- Wand Hilt #5: This hilt is part of your reward for completing the optional Fleeting Encounter task. You receive this mission relatively early in the game in the Aranshire village, but since you have to cross the Forbidden Forest and fight the giant spider The Fugitive, you should only complete this mission when you have reached level 30.
