Die in Deutschland ansässige ESL (Electronic Sports League) und die amerikanische ESEA haben die bislang größte Liga für Counter-Strike: Global Offensive angekündigt. Im Rahmen von zwei Seasons wird es 2015 ganze eine Million Dollar Preisgeld geben.
Langsam aber sicher steigt und steigt und steigt das Preisgeld bei professionellen Turnieren in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Die ESL und ESEA kündigten gestern eine neue Superliga für 2015 an – mit einem Preisgeld von 1 Million Dollar.
Die ESL ESEA Pro League, die aus der künftigen Verschmelzung der ESL Pro League und ESEA Invite hervorgeht, soll 2015 zwei Seasons erhalten. Viel ändern tut sich nicht, im Prinzip wird ESEA Invite lediglich umbenannt, sprich: Online-Spiele in Europa und Nordamerika und LAN-Finals mit den besten Teams aus beiden Kontinenten.
Pro Saison wird ein Preisgeld von 500.000 Dollar zur Verfügung gestellt, das ist die doppelte Summe aktueller Major-Turniere in CS:GO. 12 Teams in Nordamerika und 12 Teams in Europa kämpfen auf ihren Kontinenten getrennt voneinander um die Plätze, insgesamt acht Mannschaften, vier aus jeder Region, schaffen es am Ende einer Saison zu den LAN-Finals.
Die Finalspiele werden dann in den ESL-Studios in Köln und Los Angeles ausgetragen, ESEA verspricht eine "massive Qualität in Sachen Produktion". Die Kosten der Teams für Hotel und Fahrt zu den Finalspielen werden von den beiden eSports-Organisationen übernommen.
Für die kommenden Seasons in 2016 wird ein noch größeres Preisgeld erwartet, man rechnet mit bis zu einer Million Dollar Preisgeld pro Saison, sprich: 3 Million Dollar Preisgeld in 2016, da es in der Regel drei ESEA Invites pro Jahr gibt (Hinweis: Die erste endete vor zwei Wochen mit Virtus.Pro als Sieger, weshalb es in diesem Jahr nur noch zwei gibt).

Starting May 4th, the new competitive esports league is the result of two esports giants looking to grow and sustain the global Counter-Strike scene. ESL, together with ESEA, bring almost thirty years of combined experience in high quality esports production and broadcasting to what will be the world’s most prestigious Counter-Strike league. ESL’s state-of-the-art esports arenas in both Cologne (Germany) and Los Angeles (US) will host the league’s four day offline season finals in 2015.
Multi-month Pro League seasons scheduled around Valve-supported majors aim to consolidate the Counter-Strike market by providing consistent high quality content to the global esports audience. Initially split across North America and Europe, Pro League will encompass one division per region, and will consist of twelve invited teams per division. Weekly matches will be held online, protected by ESEA's industry leading anti-cheat client, with an offline final for each division in North America and Europe.
